our story (the short version)

Every child is the hero

“Omo” means “child” in Yoruba. We made it mean something for every child: Of My Own. Personalised storybooks where your child is unmistakably the star — their face, their hair, their people, their world.

chapter one

The shelf that didn't look back

It started with a bedtime story. A dad looking for a personalised book for his daughter — and realising nothing on the shelf looked like her. Not really. Not in a way that would make her point at the page and shout “that's me!” So he made one.

chapter two

Built from the inside out

We started with the moments — the Saturday hair ritual, the lunchbox at school, the walk to the corner shop with Dad. Real moments from real families. Then we built everything else around one job: putting your child right in the middle of them, drawn so true that everyone who knows them recognises them on page one.

chapter three

The World Between

In our stories there's a place where the everyday world meets the magical one — the shimmer in the mirror, the steam above a lunchbox, the shadows on a sunlit wall. Every Omo Tales story crosses into The World Between, because the best children's books teach without ever being caught teaching.

chapter four

Koku the butterfly

Hidden in every story is Koku — a small golden butterfly tucked into every illustration. Sometimes you'll spot her straight away. Sometimes she's barely there. Koku is the thread that ties the whole universe together — a quiet promise that across every kitchen, every walk and every family, your child is never alone.
